Nothing too exciting has happened this past week. I basically just went to class and did homework and read. But I did go to the Portobello Market in Notting Hill last week. I don't know if it is always like this, but it was basically all just antique/vintage stuff. I was not impressed. I didn't really enjoy myself because of the fact that I hate vintage clothing and stuff like that. Yuck. After that we just walked around in Notting Hill and eventually came across an American Food Store. So of course we had to go in there. We bought Betty Crocker cake mix and made a cake later that night. It was so good. I bought a king sized Hershey's Cookies and Cream candy bar and a can of Mountain Dew at the American store. They were so good.
I feel like all I do is read, read, and read some more. This is the most homework I've had in forever. It is not cool. I want to see stuff, but I'm constantly tied down to reading stupid books. Also, we just got essay assignments in all of our classes that are all due around the same time. Yay. My essay for my history course has to be 5,000 words. I'm NOT looking forward to that. That is just way too much to ask for when studying abroad. It makes me so mad.
This week I came down with a cold or the flu. My body ached for two days and other symptoms that caused me to miss my class on Thursday. Now I've got a sore throat and cough. I hope I will get better soon, because it sucks having this while abroad. This morning I woke up and showered, then tried reading and then took a nap. Then this afternoon I took another nap. It is unusual for me to nap ever, so the fact that I napped twice within like 5 hours of each other really shows how exhausted I am.
Happy Birthday Claire! I hope you do something special on your big day. You have become a beautiful women with a heart of kindness and love. See you in a couple weeks.
